Hamboree 2002
Join with us and other US and Caribbean hams in Georgetown, Guyana.

Kaieteur Falls - a large water fall with a 741 ft vertical drop in the rain forest of Guyana. You can charter a small plane from Georgetown and fly into an airstrip in the jungle near the falls. It is possible to hike or drive near falls with large 4 wheel drive trucks - be prepared for a lot of effort and some local help to do this.

2002 Caribbean Hamboree- March 29-30/2002. At Hamboree you will have the opportunity to make excursions into the rain forest and visit rare sights like Kaieteur falls or other equally interesting locations. Guyana is located on the Caribbean Ocean and the North Coast of South America. The main language in Guyana is English and Georgetown is a former British Colony. It participates in the official Caribbean functions as a Caribbean country. Air travel is convenient from the USA and modest in cost. It is also very easy to visit various Caribbean Islands on the way to or from Guyana.
Hams from many of the Caribbean countries attend and they can tell you about their country and the possibilities of a visit and a DX operation. You can arrange a winter visit to Caribbean countries. The Caribbean is a great location to visit in January or February for us northerners and the XYL will want go with you. You will have the opportunity to operate from the rare DX location and create you own "Pile Up"

The 2001 Hamboree was in Trinidad & Tobago My wife Gaynell KK4WWW, our grandson Jarrad Helm and I (KK4WW) attended and it was just a great experience. See information on this web site for Hamboree 2001.
